It’s from wearing the wedding band that Liz bought for me. The first couple of weeks, I found it hard to keep it on as I have never worn accessories in my life.

I even accidentally scraped my face with it as I was showering. I went,”OOowww!” in the shower. Hah.

Now, it’s becoming part of me. It’s a little scratched up, but I like it more and more every day.

Friends, family, finances, food, future, fun.

It used to be much easier when I was single, where I went where I thought God wanted me to go, did what I thought God wanted me to do but now, there’s an added life to consider.

It’s all good though. Just have to find our footing, that’s all.

When I heard that she wanted to be married at the age of 25, I worked hard to fulfill her dream .. but I only realized yesterday that when she married me, she was 24.

Heh. 25 this year la, more like it.

I came out and looked out the balcony, and the weather was a great sign of how the day would be.

Victor and I suited up and got in to Juliet, his beloved Alfa Romeo 147 (of which he hasn’t come to terms with the name, possibly) and sped off to Subang to deliver the letter. Before we started our journey, we forgot the cup cakes that we were entrusted to bring to church for the lunch. A trip back up to the apartment before we really sped off to Subang. On the way there, I suggested that we take NKVE back as there was a new road that linked SJ to the highway, and it was a direct road to Section 16, then turn right at Tan Chong to arrive at church.

He then asked,”Eh, your wedding is at Gasing or Section 13?”

I went .. “Oh, yeah hor. Okay, take Federal.”

So we went on Federal Highway, and Victor decided to turn up at Asia Jaya. After he turned, I asked him .. “Eh, where you taking me? To Section 13 ah?”

He had to make a u-turn at Sri Petaling school then. Hah. Drama.

We finally .. finally arrived at the correct church, and was greeted by this sight.

As we drove in, I felt so touched by all the preparations that had already taken place in the morning. The sight of the helpers of which I personally contacted invoked a sense of gratitude that I could not express, and could only succumb to. It was such an amazing feeling.

I set my laptop up and as friends, family started flowing in, the excitement built up and I was ecstatic! I couldn’t wait for the ceremony to start! I was walking around, greeting everyone that could, making sure that they’re comfy and settled. The atmosphere was fun and enjoyable, as my personal music selection was playing. The worship team practiced (for a second round, first was on Thursday), and everything was set!

The time was 1015, and most of the guests had arrived. Ps. Gwen asked if we could start in 3 minutes, and I said,”Yeah!”

I walked to the front of the sanctuary and sat down to calm my nerves. Ps. Gwen made some announcements and proceeded to introduce the proposal video. We watched, and I couldn’t help but to smile as I watched it for the umpteenth time. I knew this was the moment we had planned for a year, and it was coming to pass. All too quickly, all of a sudden!

Then the bridal party started to walk.

First were these two little cuties!

Then Liz

Oh what a sight. Everyone was looking at her, and I guess that was a good thing cause no one saw me wipe my tears. Hehe. Little that I know that it was the beginning of the tears that would continually stream down my face all throughout the ceremony.

Every bit of the ceremony was special, right down to the photobooth!

I heard the food was good. I didn’t get to eat much, but how was it? Let me know yeah? Heh.

It’s just a little over a month since the wedding, and I felt that I should write an account (as I usually do for significant moments in my life) on this blog to remember it more vividly.

We came off some busy weeks at work, and Liz was on leave from Wednesday, 3 days before the wedding. I made preparations to handover my work, and I finished sooner than expected. The wedding buzz got to me earlier, so I decided to request for an extra day of leave on Thursday just to appease my excitement! I was restless at work, and my bosses kept making me do more work before I leave for a long stretch of holiday.

Liz and I decided to take Thursday to relax, watched Transformers 2 at GSC Tropicana City Mall, where we sneaked in Liz’s favourite lunch, Subway sandwiches into the cinema hall. By this time, most of the wedding ceremony preparation was already in place. 3 weeks prior, we had a meeting with our wedding coordinator, Charlotte and the main helpers with individual (some multiple) roles and that really helped, as we were able to relax, de-stress just before the wedding. I dropped her off, picked my brother and went for my bachelor’s night where we had dinner and affirmation at D’Italiane Kitchen, Jaya 33. Had a good meal there, and great time with friends!

Then came Friday.

Liz was busy running around with her family, buying flowers and putting them together for the decoration of the church hall as planned in the afternoon. I, on the other hand .. was spending time with my family, as they’ve arrived from Penang a day before. Sent my car for a wax job, as Liz and her family was gonna decorate the car in the evening that day. Sounds like she’s doing a lot of work, aye? Hahaha. Well, most of the coordination work on my side has already been delegated and most of the stuff that she was responsible for can only be done close to the wedding date.

I arrived at the church for the rehearsal, and was glad to see the helpers ready to get everything up! Rehearsal went well, and by about 5-ish pm, the logistics were set for the wedding! My brother from Singapore arrived that afternoon, so it was good to see him after a long time. We then left for home separately and had dinner with our own families. Victor, my best man came by to drive me around and joined us for dinner too, as he spent the night at my place.

It was quite a dramatic night, as I initially planned to write a letter for Liz to be passed to be slipped under her door first thing in the morning (schemed with my future brother-in-law, Tim) as a surprise. Unfortunately, I only managed to write the letter but unable to deliver it that night so we decided to drive to her place in the morning instead.

As I lay in bed, I couldn’t sleep till about 2 am. I tossed, turned, with tears rolling down my cheeks as the thought of how all my friends are pulling together to help us with the wedding preparations touched my heart. Almost everything was in place, so I knew that the day to come would be perfect.

Oh, as we were setting aside the stuff that we need to bring to the wedding, we almost forgot the wedding rings.

Heh.
